Raising Funds

Some of our income comes from sponsored events, garage sales etc organised by local supporters. Another source of funding is contributions from parents, although we have no compulsory fee. However we rely on grants and donations for most of our funding and have been supported by many local and national organisations.

We need to raise around £30,000 each year to fund our work. Most of the costs are for wages for our team of qualified and experienced childcare staff who, supported by volunteers, provide one-to-one care and support for our members.Other costs include toys and equipment, fees for entertainers, accessible coaches and entrance fees for outings, insurance and other running costs.

Internet auctions

We have registered with 'Ebay for Charity' and with their charity partner 'Missionfish'. If use Ebay to sell items, you can supportus by becoming a Community Seller - you can choose to donate from 10-100% of the proceeds of any auction to your chosen charity (hopefully us!), with Gift Aid added where possible. You get a charity ribbon added to your listing. Find out more about being a Community Seller

Several local companies and celebrities have contributed to our charity auctions, including Peter Gabriel; Theatre Royal Bath; Longleat; Chas Hart Jewellers, Chippenham; Avon Rubber. Other items have been contributed by volunteers. Many thanks to everyone who has supported our auctions - we will continue to hold charity auctions on ebay whenever we have a few things to sell, so please get in touch if you would like to make a donation.

Grants and Donations 2007

Not all of our supporters wanted to be included on our website - if we have omitted your name in error or have listed your organisation against your wishes please contact us and let us know.

Other Assistance

We would like to thank Barry Seed of Old Orchard IT, who helped us to start our website.

Thank you to our new webhosts, VARiHOST for providing web hosting free of charge, and especially to Richard for the much-needed advice!

Several local people from the 'Freecycle' web group contributed toys, games and videos to replace the things that were spoilt by rain damage last winter. They were extremely generous, donating some really lovely things. Many thanks to all who contributed.
